Every year, in Buckinghamshire, the Visual Images Group organises the Bucks Open Studios. They are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year and the aim is still as it was set down by the first organisers of the event.
To allow the Visual Arts and Crafts to speak directly to the Buckinghamshire public; to show the range and quality of work being carried out and the educational opportunities that exist; to give visual artists and craftspeople the opportunity to demonstrate their importance in the fabric of this county.
As its name implies, many artists choose literally to open their studios to the public. Others prefer to get together in groups, offering the visitors a wider range of work that would be available from one person.
This year, Jane put together a diverse group of artists exhibiting together for the first time. There were: paintings in oil and watercolour, drawings, ceramic figures, outdoor ceramics, porcelain, collage, sculpture and, intriguingly, altered books.
It was held in
Little Kimble Stewart Hall,
Station Road,
Little Kimble
It is on the A4010, between Princes Risborough and Aylesbury, nearly opposite Little Kimble railway station, and close to the 300 bus route from Aylesbury to High Wycombe.
Open from Saturday 12th to Sunday 27th June.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Wednesdays and Thursdays, open 11 am - 4 pm.
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, open 11 am - 5 pm.
